How to Find Your Balance - Summer Self Care Challenge

Summer seems to a season of vacations, long days at the pool and cookouts with family and friends. All of a sudden, you find yourself shuffling from one activity to another and pretty soon, those too-hot-to-handle temperatures have you exhausted!

Whether you anticipated a relaxing, calm summer or an on-the-go summer, try to make it extra special, by allowing yourself to rest and enjoy a few minutes of self care throughout the summer.

Here are of our favorite self care activities and tips for the season:

Go on a picnic

This can be as easy or as fancy as you want. Jazz up your picnic with an assortment of fruits, cheeses, crackers and honey from the local farmers market. Temps too hot? Lay a blanket inside and take in a little something different this season.

Get in the water

This can be a very relaxing experience. Whether in a pool, lake or ocean - find a time or secluded area to naturally relax in the water. Bonus: This activity is great for your joints.

Rise early

There's something so calm and steady about a summer morning. The temperature is still mild and a summer morning walk will allow your body to slowly waken. A few minutes of calmness in the morning can really set the tone for the day.

Explore

Outings in the summer are just for the weekends. Mix it up and explore festivals, farmers' markets and local spots during the week. You never know what you might find or what inspiration strikes to start a new hobby or activity.

Refresh your senses

Look around - does your desk need cleaning or in-need of a new plant? What does it smell like - maybe time for a new scented candle or diffuser? What about your water - add a twist of lemon or cucumber to refresh the taste! Taking care of your senses is also a great way for self care. What sense can you refresh this summer?
