How Do Reed Diffusers Work?
Most reed diffuser vessels are packaged and already contain fragrance oil. Simply remove the stopper and insert your reeds. Reeds absorb the fragrance oil, that move up the length to disperse the fragrance into the air. Depending on the number of reeds you add, this will change the intensity of the fragrance. We recommend flipping your reeds once a week to refresh the scent through your reeds and into your room.
Our reed diffusers last 6-8 months, though this may vary depending on the number of reeds used.
If you purchase a reed diffuser that has oil to fill your vessel, make sure to do this over a sink or on top of a small coaster/plate to keep any oil drops from damaging your surface.
Where to use your Reed Diffuser
Did you know that reed diffusers rely on circulation? They’ll work best in a high traffic area – hallways, bathrooms, bedrooms, basements, and even regularly-visited closets. (*hint hint – for those teenagers too!)
Wondering how many reeds to use? We recommend for larger spaces like entry halls and living rooms, 6 to 8 reeds: in smaller spaces like bathrooms and closets, 3 or 4 reeds. We don’t want to overpower any room, so start with a smaller number if you are unsure.
